The concept for Uncorked Ventures was formed during a family vacation to South America in early 2009. While sipping on Pisco Sours and wines from Chile and Argentina, two brothers-in-law discussed their passion for good food and good wine. Matt Krause had recently left his human resources position at a San Francisco bay area biotech firm, and Mark Aselstine’s real estate development company in San Diego had slowed to a crawl based on the economic downturn. To start off, one of my favorite wines is this Chateau De Cedre Cahors Malbec 2007 pictured below. Imported from France, this wine is one of the top wines you can get for under $20. This smooth and elegant wine has amazing flavors of potent blackberry, cedar, and spice and herb aromas for only $17.00:

Aside from the major flavors lsited above, this wine also has hints of chocolate, raspberry, clove, and licorice notes.

If $17 is a bit too pricy for you, try this great Chateau la Mouliniere Bordeaux Rouge 2007 for only $11.00.
