Sauvignon Blanc – Wine Guide

Published by at 12:15 am under Sauvignon Blanc

One of the zestiest grapes, Sauvignon Blanc is popular around the world. This grape is known for having a very crisp taste which comes from its high acidity.

Some of many flavors you may experience when drinking Sauvignon Blanc are citrus fruits, herbs, pear, toast, pineapple, and melon. These crisp, fruity flavors has helped make Sauvignon Blanc one of the most popular wines in the world.

Sauvignon Blanc was first grown in France but quickly expanded to wineries in Washington, Austria, Africa, Australia, and California.

This white wine is a light to medium wine and pairs great with many different foods. Like more light wines, Sauvignon Blanc is best when served before a meal during the salad, soup, or appetizers.

Some other great snacks to pair Sauvignon Blanc with are green vegetables, tomatoes, yogurt, and goat cheese.

Sauvignon Blanc typically grows in cooler climates but in warmer climates like California the grapes become more ripe and therefore yield a higher alcohol content and lower acidity.

If you haven’t had Sauvignon Blanc before you should rush out a get a bottle. Pair it with some good food and you’ll really enjoy it!
