Wine Sangria Recipe

Published by Paul at 11:02 pm under Making Wine, Red Wine, Wine and Food

Sangria is a tasty drink and is surprising easy to make. You’ll need to gather a few ingredients including your favorite bottle of red wine. Some of your options are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Rioja reds, or Zinfandel.

Aside from the bottle of wine, you will need the following:

  • 1 Lemon cut into wedges
  • 1 Orange cut into wedges (other fruit is optional)
  • 2 Tbsp of sugar
  • 1 Shot of brandy
  • 2 Cups of ginger ale (club soda will work also)

Add the wine to a punch bowl or pitcher.

Now slice up your fruit and squeeze the juices into the wine.

After you squeeze out the juice, put the fruit slices into the wine also.

Add the rest of your ingredients, except for the ginger ale/club soda, and let the sangria mixture chill overnight.

Before serving, add the ginger ale/club soda.

If you don’t have time to chill it overnight, try to use a chilled bottle of wine.

Any other fruit will typically taste good in sangria. Try strawberries, melon, and etc.

Enjoy!
