When Was Wine Invented

Published by at 9:40 pm under Making Wine,Wine and Food

Wine and beer have been around for thousands of year. Scientists even claim that alcohol built the pyramids because that’s what the workers were paid in!

Although it’s not clear when vino was first invented, many believe that wine was probably first made in the stone age. Juice and graph residue were left in a indentation in a rock and then consumed before turning sour.

This bottle was found in a vineyard in Germany. Researchers believe it was from about 325 A.D. It wasn’t found until 1867. This bottle is on display at History Museum of the Pfalz.

Wine has also been found in ancient pottery jars thousands of years B.C. So wine has been around for a very long time.
